Steve McCurry

The three images below are from a set of photos themed Buddhism. I really like  Steve McCurrys photography as I find that they don't just show the Buddhist praying but doing other activities, I want to photograph the Buddhist life in the temple and the visitors.

The photos above is of the Buddhist in china meditating in china quite a different way to meditate. the main focus in the monk in the front he looks so peaceful even though his whole body must be straining.  the colours are mainly gray and blue with the bright orange that the monks ware standing out.

The portraits below  are all unique in their own way as each person has a different background which you can see in the photographs. I would like to take the portraits of the monks and the people who attend the temple.

   

I would say that Steve McCurry would be a major influence in my work for this assignment as I don't just wasn't my photos to just look documentary but artistic as well with the use of colours and the way the people in his portrait look right at the camera gives you a sense of innocents. I would like show show something in my photography not just a photo but life.
